I'm Randy Mouri and this blog is about my quest to be an official finisher in the Race Across AMerica (RAAM), the toughest endurance race in the world. It's over and I became an official solo finisher in 11 days, 1 hour and 13 minutes! We continue to raise money and awareness on behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia (Habitat NoVa). If you would like to make a donation to Habitat NoVa, please visit my page on Habitat’s site. Endless thanks to our sponsors and all the folks that have made such generous contributions. Team Mouri would not have been able to travel so comfortably, which certainly may have changed the outcome of the race.

West by God Vriginia

Randy is now in West Virginia.

On the way out of Indiana and into WVA, the team riders started catching up to Randy. And got got a surprising (to them) view of what Randy can do. From Earl yesterday:

"He (Randy) challenged some team riders, keeping up with them or passing them. Many riders can't believe this unknown guy with a big chin support can keep up with them, let alone out climb them on the hills. Many riders can't believe this unknown guy with a big chin support can keep up with them, let alone out climb them on the hills."

Once he gets to TS 45 in Ellenboro, WV, Randy will have *less* than 400 miles to go!

An old friend says, "You're getting close. I know you can smell the barn now! Keep cranking and take it in safe."

Can you guess who?

Ohhhhhh, I can believe he can keep up with them AND outclimb them on the hills. After all, I've suffered through his spin classes!

You are almost there, Randy. Dairy Queen Annapolis is just at the top of the next ridge....easy climb.... Isn't that what you always tell me???

You've got this RAAM Quest in your review mirror. Ride safely, and rest when needed!

Hey, Team -- When do you expect to get to Annapolis? Raam thinks you're getting in at 6 am tomorrow. I'd like to see Randy, but I'm in Rochester NY visiting mom and won't be able to get there THAT early. Please post ETA as soon as you get an idea!

Keep cranking, Randy -- you're almost home!

Cheers, Greg

Hang in there Randy. The finish line is oooh so close you can almost taste it. It might even taste like your favorite ice cream. I'm proud of you and your endurance. Your team has done a great job keeping you going. We have beautiful weather here so the ride should be pleasant. Keep peddling and we'll see you soon.
