I'm Randy Mouri and this blog is about my quest to be an official finisher in the Race Across AMerica (RAAM), the toughest endurance race in the world. It's over and I became an official solo finisher in 11 days, 1 hour and 13 minutes! We continue to raise money and awareness on behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia (Habitat NoVa). If you would like to make a donation to Habitat NoVa, please visit my page on Habitat’s site. Endless thanks to our sponsors and all the folks that have made such generous contributions. Team Mouri would not have been able to travel so comfortably, which certainly may have changed the outcome of the race.

Quit fooling around with those team riders - this is a race, not a friendly ol' brevet!!!!

I want an autograph too, when you get done.

You're getting into your corner of the country - you know these roads and hills - go after it.

Way to go, Randy!

OK, just saw on RAAM site only 563 miles to go!! Whoop! Whoop!! And by now you are in West-by God, I bet, or just about -- so come on people, sing it loud, sing it proud "Almost Heaven, West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River.....Take me home, country roads, to the place, I belong West Virginia, Mountain Mama, take me home country roads....." But, did you know the official state song goes like this "Oh those West Virginia hills how majestic and how grand with their summits bathed in glory like our prince Immanual's land. is it any wonder then that my heart with rapture thrills as I stand once more with loved ones on those West Virginia hills." "Oh those hills, beautiful hills, how I love those West Virgina hills. If o'r land or sea I roam still I think of happy home and my friends amond the West Virginia hills." I wish I could send you the tune, but maybe you can find it -- ask someone along the route!!

Love you guys!! Keep rollin' along -- by the way, I had to consult with Winifred to get the correct lyrics.

Love the Alton Boys story. Thanks, Susie! Randy will forever be a superhero in their eyes (and in ours, all the friends and family following him online). Randy, you're almost home! Keep your sights on that ice-cold beer waiting for you.

See you soon!

How Exciting!!! Randy, you may not remember me, but hopefully you remember my husband, Joe Brauch who worked with you many years ago. I was watching todays RAAM daily update and saw your crew chief in the video. I texted Joe immediately to confirm I remembered then name right. I've often wondered if you ever finally got to RAAM, and now I know!

Have a great trip in the final miles which no doubt will all feel very familiar. You are in "home country" now! Be safe, and I look forward to following you the rest of the way.
