I'm Randy Mouri and this blog is about my quest to be an official finisher in the Race Across AMerica (RAAM), the toughest endurance race in the world. It's over and I became an official solo finisher in 11 days, 1 hour and 13 minutes! We continue to raise money and awareness on behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia (Habitat NoVa). If you would like to make a donation to Habitat NoVa, please visit my page on Habitat’s site. Endless thanks to our sponsors and all the folks that have made such generous contributions. Team Mouri would not have been able to travel so comfortably, which certainly may have changed the outcome of the race.

Good morning the halfway point is in the rearview mirror. Keep it rollin' -- you'll be east of the Mississippi in know time (do you remember as a kid having to learn how to spell that state? Why is it the way I learned it sticks in head everytime I have to spell it?! MISSISSIPPI!! Anyway, out for an early run, I'll push you along ahead of me in my mind. Love you guys!!

Way to go Randy! I hope to see you in Annapolis if not on the road before--like in Cumberland or Hancock. But current time estimates show you blasting through the Appalachians during the middle of the night on Saturday so I may not make it to see you there. I'm a daylight person! and a wimp.
Hope your neck and a$$ are doing OK!
Love from Sarah C.

Randy:

I was thinking of you while I did my cycle class. It was not as tough as what you are going through now but you are an inspiration. Keep up the good work.

Thanks,

Karen

Good morning Good Fella,

Wow... your stats from yesterday are amazing. I think someone found a new pair of legs after coming out of the mountains and that nasty energy zapping heat.

Flying like the wind now.... that would be a tailwind! Go Randy.... Go!

Ride Strong, Be Safe and enjoy!

Hey Randy, Your fast riding is continuing to move you up on your fellow competitors!! Man alive, you are something else! Can't believe you are almost out of Kansas. What concentration you have! As you know, now is the time to really focus on the finish line and feel like you and your bike are floating like a feather. Again, like i have said before, I am very proud to know you. Lets get this job done!

Randy, my heart rate goes up and I get an adrenaline surge just reading about how you're eating up this course. Lance has nothing on you--you got ready for this race while holding down a full-time job. You're truly awe inspiring. Keep those wheels spinning!

Awesome Randy, you made it to TS 29Yates Center, KS now on to TS 30 Ft Scott KS where you should have blue skies and mid 70s. You are cruising...GO LETT GO! Put one pedal in front of the other and soon you'll be coming to ANN-AP-OH-LIS!

Go Team Randy!! You're all doing an amazing and awesome job!! I'm rolling with you every mile.

Now it is time to take a quick mental break with a couple of stupid one-liners:

Latest survey shows that 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the world's population.

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.

Hugz,

Wow. Keep peddling. More road is bind you than in front of you. I can hardly wait for you to get home. Katie and I are going to start work on signs that I hope we will get to use. Katie has been tracking you across the USA.

The most important thing is you remain safe.

Keep it up Randy. Pretend you're drafting behind Linda. Don't try to figure out Andrea's mental breaks....they're way over your head. ;-)

You're getting stronger every day, just like you did in the PAC tour. Or did you just lose some excess weight by taking my dirty, wet, stinky bike clothes out of your saddlebag?

Go Randy! Go! You are amazing! I am doing the printer dance for you! Beijos na Bunda! Frosty and Gil send loads of good energy!
