I'm Randy Mouri and this blog is about my quest to be an official finisher in the Race Across AMerica (RAAM), the toughest endurance race in the world. It's over and I became an official solo finisher in 11 days, 1 hour and 13 minutes! We continue to raise money and awareness on behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia (Habitat NoVa). If you would like to make a donation to Habitat NoVa, please visit my page on Habitat’s site. Endless thanks to our sponsors and all the folks that have made such generous contributions. Team Mouri would not have been able to travel so comfortably, which certainly may have changed the outcome of the race.

More RAAM pictures

These pictures give a hint of the two sides of crewing on RAAM...

Sleeping were you can with safety vest (Not wearing vest is a penalty).

Thank you so much for the pics, CREW!!!! Just LOVE seeing them!!! You are all doing such an outstanding job. I can't imagine the sleep deprivation you are all enduring and lack of showers. Those 2 things would surely turn me into a Cruella DeVille--capable of skinning cute spotted puppies. Keep up the great work!! You all ROCK and deserve so much appreciation for keeping da man in da saddle. Very cool chin rest!!!! And Randy, I am so impressed/inspired by you. Tears well up. I'm going to get up a half an hour earlier tomorrow morning and work out in your honor! I have so let myself go with single motherhood and going back to school and being on-call...blah blah blah...But if you can accomplish all this, then I can certainly begin getting myself back into some sort of shape. You are an inspiration. My daughters will thank you too cause they won't have to feed me milky cereal through a straw if I keep healthy. Love you. Love you too Sus Bafus!! Big Smooches all around!
